Role Title: Junior Accountant 

Reports To: Finance Consultant/Head of Operations

Location: Nairobi


Job Summary 

eBee Mobility is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to drive financial accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency across the business. This role goes beyond reporting — you will play a key role in improving financial processes, supporting decision-making, and enabling business growth.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting: 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are  properly recorded. 

  • Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses  to support decision-making. 

  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing procedures, including  reconciliations and journal entries. 

2.  Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: 

  • Process supplier invoices, verify payment requests, and ensure timely  disbursement of payments. 

  • Manage customer invoicing, follow up on outstanding payments, and ensure  timely collections. 

  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy in financial  reporting. 

3.  Bank & Cash Management: 

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are  accurately recorded. 

  • Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation and approval of cash  disbursements. 

  • Monitor cash flow, forecast liquidity needs, and provide recommendations to  optimize cash management.

4.  Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: 

  • Prepare and file statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, and  corporate tax, ensuring compliance with local tax laws. 

  • Keep up to date with changes in tax regulations and advise management on tax  planning strategies. 

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of financial  reports. 

5.  Payroll Management: 

  • Process payroll, ensuring accurate computation of salaries, deductions, and  statutory contributions. 

  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company  policies. 

  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare necessary reports. 

6.  Audit & Internal Controls: 

  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required  documentation and explanations. 

  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and  prevent financial discrepancies. 

  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend strategies for enhanced  financial efficiency. 

7.  Budgeting & Financial Planning: 

  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring adherence to financial  plans. 

  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted expenditures and provide  insights for cost control. 

  • Support management with financial forecasting and strategic financial planning. 

8.  Expense & Cost Management: 

  • Review company expenses to ensure they are justified, approved, and within  budget. 

  • Work closely with different departments to optimize operational costs while  maintaining efficiency. 

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest financial best practices.

9. Collaboration & Support: 

  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support  decision-making. 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and  procedures. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

  • CPA Part II (or equivalent) required; progress toward full qualification is an added advantage.

  • 1–2 years’ hands-on accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced spreadsheet use (Google Sheets / Excel).

  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan statutory and tax compliance requirements.

  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
